Soccer Information Manager 2006 - Latest World Cup Footie Info - in an Instant!

This product has been discontinued

Need any information about the soccer World Cup? The Soccer Information Manager 2006 can give it to you in a second. This Pocket PC software delivers all you could need to know about fixtures, locations and starting times in the different groups at the push of a button. Put the results of the matches in as they are played, and the Soccer Information Manager 2006 calculates the ranking and details of the final rounds.

In June this year, the 2006 World Cup kicks off – a thrilling time for football fans. But it’s not easy to keep up to date with all the information about the matches. Who is playing whom on Saturday: where is the match and at what time does it start? If you have a Pocket PC there is an easy way to find out: the Soccer Information Manager 2006 shows the whole schedule. Matches can be displayed in order of starting time, by groups, by final rounds or by stadium locations.

After entering the results of each match, the software calculates new tables and fixtures. You can also try out different scenarios, e.g. what would be the situation if your country wins, ties or, worst of all, looses a game. The software even shows the location of each match on a map of Germany. There is now no excuse for missing a game. Pick the ones that you want to watch and the Soccer Information Manager 2006 sends the starting time to your Outlook database. The alarm goes off a set time in advance, so you’ll be able to fetch beer and crisps and get comfortable in front of the TV or even go down the pub to be ready for the kick-off!

One of the remarkable features of the software is its user-friendly interface. Without need of instructions, everybody is able to input the results, to display the next fixtures and to set the match reminder function. All data is saved automatically, so no information is lost if the battery runs out. The user can select between six languages: English, German, French, Italian, Spanish and Portuguese. It is also possible to select the time zone. The program size is less than 250 Kbytes. The software is also compatible with all kind of Outlook extensions, e.g. Pocket Informant. A demo version even allows testing the software free of charge. Price $ 4.95 at Handango.  (Source: Press Release)  This product has been discontinued

Pocket PC Software Helps Drivers Keep an Eye on Traffic

Traffic VizzionVizzion, Inc. has announced a Pocket PC version of it's popular cell phone service, "Traffic Vizzion"  (pronounced "vision"), which enables drivers to see images from thousands of traffic cameras that line our roads directly on their device.

A driver using Traffic Vizzion can pull up images from cameras along their intended route and spot traffic congestion or poor road conditions well in advance, giving them a chance to take a different route. Utilized on a regular basis, Traffic Vizzion can result in considerable savings in time, fuel and frustration.

Those whose Pocket PC has an internal or external GPS can go one step further and make use of the unique "Watch Road Ahead" feature in Traffic Vizzion. With access to the position and direction information from the GPS, Traffic Vizzion uses Patent Pending technology to automatically show images from cameras several miles up ahead, giving the driver enough warning to get off the highway at the exit preceding a traffic jam. It’s like having your own personal traffic reporter!

Traffic Vizzion is available in over 60 major cities and metro areas across North America and the UK. Traffic Vizzion is targeted at commuters, business travelers, long-haul drivers, delivery drivers, vacationers, or anyone else who needs to see road conditions in advance.

TextMaker 2006 for Pocket PCs Goes to Beta

Nuernberg, Germany -- April 10, 2006 -- German software vendor SoftMaker announced today the start of public beta testing of its new word processor for Pocket PCs, TextMaker 2006.

When TextMaker was first introduced for the Pocket PC three years ago, it was an overnight sensation: Finally it was possible to do real word processing on these mobile devices. Finally it was possibe to open a Microsoft Word file, work on it, and save it back, with formatting and content intact.

TextMaker has been completely overhauled in the 2006 release and introduces many significant improvements, such as:

* Updated import and export filters for Microsoft Word
* Import of OpenDocument and OpenOffice.org documents
* A complete AutoShapes-compatible drawing layer built in
* "Track changes" just like in Microsoft Word
* Comments that appear as "balloons"
* Long-document features such as a bibliography
* ... and much more

Tables are much more capable now. Cells can be merged and split, headers can be made to repeat on every new page, and true nested tables are supported. The user can even rotate the contents of individual cells.

TextMaker 2006 offers full Unicode support for composing documents in the world's languages. But it doesn't stop there: The users can set menus and dialogs to display in their native languages: TextMaker comes with user interfaces in English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Turkish, Hungarian, Chinese, and Japanese.

As a member of the OpenDocument Format Alliance (odfalliance.org), SoftMaker takes pride in its support of the OpenDocument file  format: TextMaker 2006 reads OpenDocument files with high fidelity, and saving in this format is being worked on by SoftMaker's developers right now.

TextMaker 2006 for Pocket PCs will carry a suggested retail price of US$ 49.95 (49.95 Euro). (Source: Press Release)
