FCC questions Verizon about doubling fee

In November, the carrier hiked the maximum early contract termination fee for smart phones to $350 from $175. Like other carriers, Verizon subsidizes the cost of the devices for contract-signing customers, then expects to make that money back in service fees over the term of the contract.

"Smart phones quickly became a major part of our business and cost us a whole lot more," Verizon spokesman Jeffrey Nelson said. (Source: MSNBC)

My tech predictions for 2010

Mobile Phone OS wise, I don't see the Wondows Mobile 6.5 gaining much ground with the way Android is heading. Apps continue to be the most important piece and 2010 would be the true duel between the iPhone OS and the Android OS. (Source: HK Tech Phooey, CNet Asia)
