ConvertMe 1.0 has been released!

What is ConvertMe?

ConvertMe is an one-way migration tool that migrates your Palm Desktop data to Microsoft Outlook. ConvertMe is perfect for PocketPC users upgrading from Palm devices. At the touch of a button, all of your Palm Desktop Address Book, Date Book, Memo Pad, and To Do List data will be copied to Microsoft Outlook Contacts, Calendar, Notes, and Tasks. Get up and running with your new handheld instantly! No need to copy and paste hundreds of records into Outlook. Full category support is included, so there's no need to reorganize your contacts.

ConvertMe is similar to Resync, but geared towards Pocket PC users migrating their Palm data to Microsoft Outlook.

What are the system requirements?

- Palm Desktop 4.1 SP3
- Microsoft Outlook 2000 through 2003 (not SP1).
- Collaboration Data Objects (CDO) must be installed (via the Office installation CD).

The only limitations are that it does not work with Palm Desktop 4.1.2+ and Microsoft Outlook 2003 SP1. We are working on extending the functionality to include support for both.

Do I have to pay for ConvertMe?

ConvertMe is FREE software.

How do I get started?

1. Ensure that Collaboration Data Objects is installed on your system. It is not installed by default, so you will need to install it on your system via the Office installation CD. If you are a corporate user, ask your system administrator to install Collaboration Data Objects on your system.

2. Synchronize your Palm handheld with Palm Desktop using palmOne's HotSync Manager.

3. Download, install and run ConvertMe. Click 'Start' to start the migration process! ConvertMe automatically detects your Palm username and Outlook profile. If you have multiple Palm usernames and/or Outlook profiles, ConvertMe will prompt you to select a Palm username and/or Outlook profile. (Source: Press Release)

PhatWare and Web Information Solutions Launch New Online Mobile Software Store

New Web site becomes PhatWare's and WebIS' primary online software store.

Mountain View, CA & Austin, TX (PRWEB via MobilityNewswire) June 28, 2005 -- PhatWare Corporation, a leading provider of software products and professional services for mobile and desktop computers, and Web Information Solutions (WebIS), professional web applications consultants, announce the launch of a new online store for mobile software products.

The store supplies mobile software made by PhatWare and WebIS, including all of PhatWare's products for Microsoft Windows Mobile-based Pocket PCs and Smartphones, Tablet PCs, and Smartphones. The store has simpler navigation than large online stores and is secured with extensive online commerce security protocols to protect customers' personal information.

"I am confident that this joint business venture with WebIS is the best decision for PhatWare and its customers," said Stan Miasnikov, president of PhatWare. "The new store makes purchasing PhatWare's award-winning products more convenient than ever."

The fewer number of products in the store helps customers locate the products much faster and with greater convenience. In addition, consumers will experience increased availability of the products, as the store is managed by the privately held WebIS and expects site down time to be minimal compared to large online retailers.

"We have created an online store that provides customers with the easiest and most secure way to purchase mobile software," said Alex Kac, president of Web IS. "Our store solves problems that customers have experienced with larger online stores."

"The announced collaboration between PhatWare and WebIS will help bring software for Windows Mobile devices to customers quickly and more conveniently," said Julie Wymetalek, manager of the Mobility Partner Advisory Council at Microsoft Corp.
