Proporta Release Four New Cases and an Advanced Screen Protector for the hx 47xx

Following in the footsteps of the HP iPAQ rz17xx and 4350, PDA specialists, Proporta have launched two new Alu-Leather Cases (Flip and Book), a Crystal Case (as nominated for the PDA Essentials Accessory Award 2004), a Silicone Skin Case and an Advanced Screen Protector all for the HP iPAQ hx 47xx.

Alu-Leather Cases

Hand made to fit the exact measurements of the hx 47xx both the Flip and Book type incorporate the practical and stylish combination of a soft, black leather exterior and the unique Proporta ‘Screen Saver System’ – the leather is backed up with a tough, aluminium lining ensuring the cases are as protective as they are attractive.

All the usual features have been included - such as MMC/SD card storage, optional and removable belt clips, secure closure system, removable credit card module and PDA attachment system. The cases are ideally suited for use with the company’s growing selection of in vehicle GPS navigation solutions (www.proporta.com/gps) as they are compatible with the Proporta in-vehicle docking system.

Crystal Case

As with the Proporta Alu-Leather Cases, Proporta Crystal Cases (image of 41xx shown) are created to perfectly fit the contours of the hx 47xx. With individual cutouts for access to ports, this case, made from polycarbonate plastic is extremely functional and leaves your PDA on display so it’s also ideal for use with GPS (www.proporta.com/gps).

Silicone Skin Case

A new entry in the extensive Proporta case lineup, the Silicone Skin Case (image of Xda ii shown), provides a high level of shock resistant protection to your hx 47xx in a case that’s just a few millimetres thicker than your PDA. It’s the perfect case for the user who doesn’t want a case at all.

Individual cut outs give access to stylus and ports without compromising functionality or protection. The screen is also fully viewable and can be used at all times.

Advanced Screen Protector

Proporta have also introduced Advanced Screen Protectors for the new hx 47xx. Each Advanced Screen Protector includes an application card and a screen cleaning cloth, allowing the protector to be applied, removed, cleaned and reapplied as often as required.

In the competitive screen protector market, Proporta are putting their ‘money where their mouth is’ by offering a refund or replacement to anyone who doesn’t agree that these are the best screen protectors on the market. (Source: Press Release)

Astraware and PopCap announce a dazzling December with Bejeweled 2

Astraware and PopCap announce the most highly anticipated PDA game ever - Bejeweled 2.

Bejeweled 2, the sequel to the biggest selling PDA game of all time, Bejeweled, will make its handheld debut less than a month after PopCap's PC version and will retain all the features of its bigger brother, including four standard play modes, classic, action, endless and the all-new puzzle mode. Additionally, five special bonus modes are unlocked as players progress through the various standard modes.

"Bejeweled 2 will take the Bejeweled phenomenon to the next level, and will become our flagship PDA product moving into 2005." said Howard Tomlinson, Astraware CEO and self confessed Bejeweled addict. "It is nearly four years since the first Bejeweled for PDA launch captivated players and allowed them to take their addiction with them as they go. Bejeweled 2 takes that even further, with new modes, a fantastic new look, and Hyper and Power Gems to add an extra level of play to those who crave more strategy to their game."

"Astraware have done a terrific job porting Bejeweled 2 to the PDA," said Jason Kapalka, Creative Director and co-founder of PopCap. "They have consistently outdone themselves with their conversions of our games, both in technical areas and in retaining playability, all on devices with dramatically fewer resources than a PC."

With all new graphics, stunning background images, in-game transitions and cutting-edge effects Bejeweled 2 is sure to captivate both the die-hard Bejeweled fan and new players coming to the Bejeweled experience for the first time.

Astraware have ensured that PDA owners everywhere will be able to experience Bejeweled 2 at its best, with versions for Palm OS(R) and Windows Mobile(TM) for Pocket PC available at launch, these will be followed later in 2005 by Windows Mobile(TM) for Smartphone and VGA Pocket PC versions.

Bejeweled 2 will be available to pre-order from October 27th 2004 for Palm OS(R) and Windows Mobile(TM) for Pocket PC devices at Astraware's website, http://www.astraware.com, and will be released in December 2004.
