MobiForms 2.1 Mobile Development Tools Now Released For Sybase

he team at MobiForms are proud to announce the release of MobiForms 2.1. MobiForms now runs with Sybase SQL Anywhere and supports multiple data types from different database suppliers. MobiForms 2.1 improves support for Oracle Server and Oracle Lite. MobiForms also supports the Sybase jConnect and iAnywhere JDBC drivers.

MobiForms is a rapid application development tool for building mobile applications for Windows CE, Pocket PC, EPOC/Symbian and Palm based PDAs. MobiForms revolutionises the creation of mobile applications by reducing development time from days to minutes with the intuitive MobiForms drag and drop interface.

MobiForms gives you the power of a whole army of unrelenting Java programmers by automating the development process and removing the need for the application developer to know a single line of Java. With MobiForms an application that would traditionally take days to write in Java or C++ can be built in minutes.

MobiForms helps you develop professional applications for asset collection, field service, inspection, market research, site surveys, stock control and workshop management.

The latest release can make a local database unnecessary. Instead, you can read and write to any ASCII file format like Excel CSV using the MobiForms simple MobiScript language. With MobiScript you can also call other programs like bar code scanning software. The MobiForms development environment has additionally been improved with a colour palette and font chooser so that you can apply attributes directly to buttons, check boxes, fields, labels and lists. (Source: Press Release)

VITO Voice2Go to rival Microsoft Voice Command after a month on the market!

Voice2Go            VITO Voice2Go has been only one month on the market and has already become not
only one of the best-sellers but also a real rival of such giant as Microsoft Voice Command.

Both Microsoft Voice Command and VITO Voice2Go have common functions and strive to
simplify managing Pocket PCs hands-free. With any of these programs users can call up their
contacts, start applications, i.e. control their Pocket PC without using stylus and buttons.
All they need is simply to say a command and let VITO Voice2Go or Microsoft Voice Command work
for them.

This basic functionality can still be extended in case of VITO Voice2Go. This
application gives you some more functions not supported in Microsoft Voice Command.

First of all it works with complex macros that you can assign to a single voice
command. It means you don't need to go over with all the tedious stylus tapping every time you
want to open your favorite web site for example.

Another thing Voice2Go has to offer you is to tell you who is calling. To enable this option
you need to record a voice command. In fact, you will need to do it for every command you are
going to use. And here we come to the third advantage of Voice2Go over Voice Command.

VITO works with any language whereas in Voice Command you can give commands only in English
given you have native pronunciation. It means with Voice2Go you have greater freedom and wider
choice.

Some take it as a disadvantage that you need to create a record for every command you want to
perform in VITO Voice2Go. Actually in Voice Command the problem remains as you still need to
find and read all the command you will use, which takes some time, right?  Then you can never
be sure that a next new program you are going to install on your Pocket PC will be recognized
by Voice Command. Voice2Go stores carefully all the commands you have taught it.

As VITO Voice2Go takes more personal approach to its users it becomes especially
popular all around the world. Here is what people say about it:

    - Kirk Masterson (http://pocketnow.com):
"VITO Technology has released a product with powerful features, and great potential."

    - Karl Koeniger  (http://www.kkoeniger.at):
"VITO Voice2Go is one of the few applications on my MDAIII I won't go without
anymore. Despite its (easily understandable) English interface voice commands themselves are
possible for any language where they show great performance."

    - Helmut Hackl (http://www.pocket.at):
"Meanwhile I have almost all possible voice commands recorded and already use
Voice2Go on everyday basis - on iPAQ hx4700 with Nokia N90 Smartphone (connected via
Bluetooth) and also on iPAQ hw6515 Phone Edition Pocket PC). Highly recommendable!"

    - Scritto da Nemesys (http://www.x50v.it):
"The software meets our expectations, it recognizes vocal commands correctly, even in tough
situations. We like the Macros function, which allows us to give specific commands to various
applications."

Since 1999, when it entered the Windows Mobile and Symbian software market, VITO Technology
has developed a wide range of software solutions for mobile multimedia, communication, GPS
navigation including various utilities.

Having set its goal as achieving the excellence of performance VITO Technology has been making
every effort to empower mobile devices by its software to increase their functionality. The
case with VITO Voice2Go is one of the best examples of sincere efforts that came true and
realized into a product capable of rivaling such giants as Microsoft Voice Command.

Business executives and tech-savvy consumers are increasingly using BlackBerries, Treos, Sidekicks and other devices with miniature keyboards designed for thumb-tapping to stay connected while on the go.

And that has some ergonomic and hand experts worried about injuries from overexertion.

"If you're trying to type 'War and Peace' with your thumbs, then you're going to have a problem," warned Alan Hedge, director of the Human Factors and Ergonomics Laboratory at Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. (Source: CNN)
