VITO Technology brings VITO Remote to a new functional level with a new major update

VITO Technology, the well-known software developer for Pocket  PC  is  proud  to  announce  a new major update of its popular remote  control application. VITO Remote updated to version 4.0 gets a voice control option, a new easy to train mode and many more...

What is VITO Remote?

VITO  Remote  is  an application designed for Pocket PC to control any devices,  equipped  with an infrared port or a remote controller. Such devices  include,  but are not limited to: TV sets, stereos, VCRs, DVD players,  camcorders, cameras, TiVo boxes, and anything else including garage  gates  and video cameras. VITO Remote substitutes all standard remote  controls  providing a single universal controller. VITO Remote uses  the  standard  infrared port of Pocket PC to send signals to the controlled  device, which makes the program compatible almost with all Pocket PC models available in the market.

How does it work?

VITO  Remote comes with 50 pre-defined profiles for various TV and VCR models.  Each  profile  includes  sets  of  commands  and  a  graphic interface.  After an on-screen button is pressed (either with a stylus or  a  finger), VITO Remote sends a respective signal (i.e. “turn off” or  “volume  down”)  to  the receiver, that is a TV set, VCR, or other electronics.  Commands can be organized into macros to perform several actions (such as “turn on and then switch to channel 5”) with a singlebutton press.

VITO Remote can work virtually with any home or office equipment. This is  achieved  in two ways. Firstly, the program can quickly and easily learn  the desired signals from a standard remote control. VITO Remote records  all  acquired  commands  and  stores  them  in  the  created interface.   Secondly,  VITO  Remote  supports  CCF  files  (Cabernet Configuration  File)  that  include  settings for infrared signals and interface,  color  or  black-and-white, both supported by VITO Remote. CCF  files for any device can be found in the Internet, installed onto Pocket PC and opened with VITO Remote.

What is so special about VITO Remote 4.0?

The most crucial option featuring in VITO Remote 4.0 is voice control. Now  you  can  forget  about your stylus and even run the program with backlight  off.  After activating the voice control option by saying a keyword you can switch the channels, turn up the volume, playback your favorite  DVDs:  anything  you  can  do  with  the help of a stylus or hardware buttons. All you need is only record necessary voice tags and start to control your electronics by giving it voice commands.

VITO  Remote  4.0  also  features  a  new speed-up mode of teaching it regular  remote  control  signals.  It’s never been that easy. Just by pressing  buttons  on  your  old  remote control and on a stylish VITO Remote interface in turns when they face each other you can teach VITO Remote all the necessary commands.     The  settings interface has been simplified as well. Now it takes much less time to personalize your VITO Remote. Other  enhancements include an updated ir driver and a number of minor bugs fixed.

VITO  Remote  is  available  as  an  exe.,  zip.  or  a  cab. file for over-the-air  download.  Provided  trial  version  works  without  any limitations  for  14 days; full version can be purchased for $15.95 at the  company’s  web  site www.VitoTechnology.com. Volume discounts are available.     (Source: Press Release)

MobiForms 2.1 Mobile Development Tool Now Released For Sybase

The team at MobiForms are proud to announce the release of MobiForms 2.1. MobiForms now runs with Sybase SQL Anywhere and supports multiple data types from different database suppliers. MobiForms 2.1 continues to support Oracle Server and Oracle Lite. MobiForms also supports the Sybase jConnect and iAnywhere JDBC drivers.

MobiForms is a rapid application development tool for building mobile applications for Windows CE, Pocket PC, EPOC/Symbian and Palm based PDAs. MobiForms revolutionises the creation of mobile applications by reducing development time from days to minutes with the intuitive MobiForms drag and drop interface.

MobiForms gives you the power of a whole army of unrelenting Java programmers by automating the development process and removing the need for the application developer to know a single line of Java. With MobiForms an application that would traditionally take days to write in Java or C++ can be built in minutes.

MobiForms helps you develop professional applications for asset collection, field service, inspection, market research, site surveys, stock control and workshop management.

The latest release can make a local database unnecessary. Instead, you can read and write to any ASCII file format like Excel CSV using the MobiForms simple MobiScript language. With MobiScript you can also call other programs like bar code scanning software. The MobiForms development environment has additionally been improved with a colour palette and font chooser so that you can apply attributes directly to buttons, check boxes, fields, labels and lists.

For more information see our web site at www.mobiforms.com. (Source: Press Release)
