    Napoleonix has been released!

In the beginning of the 19th century after becoming the emperor Napoleon started to pursue the policy aiming at ensuring French political and economical hegemonye over Europe. During 1799-1815 France was waging war against Austria, Russia, Great Britain and other countries.

Do you want to repeat the success this great commander had at Margeno, Austerlitz, Wagram? Or maybe you want to stop one of the greatest tyrants of Europe?

You don’t like strategy games, and you prefer chess or card games? Then, this game is for you too.

Napoleonix is a logical turn-based strategy game
. The game presents a successful combination of strategic and tactical planning employed in turn-based strategies, it also has some elements of applying physiological pressure towards the opposer (bluff being one of them) which are used in a number of card games. The main thing about this game is that your opposer doesn’t know where your bulk strength is dislocated. This makes it possible to carry out diversionary maneuvers, complicated readjustment of force, make attacks and commit counterattacks. So, the main goal of the strategy is to get the actual information on where the opposer’s forces are dislocated.

The game is available for PocketPC and Windows. Please use the following links to get the demo!

PhatWare Releases PhatPad 4.0 for Windows Powered Tablet, Desktop and Pocket PCs

Upgraded software supports Windows Vista and gives mobile users support for typed text in addition to digital ink, document security and templates

Mountain View, CA, December 19, 2006 - PhatWare Corporation, a leading provider of software products and professional services for mobile and desktop computers, announces the release of PhatPad 4.0, the next generation of the company's award-winning notes organizer for Microsoft Windows-based Tablet, Desktop and Windows Mobile powered Pocket PCs.

PhatPad allows users to draw pictures, jot notes or put a mixture of pictures and typed text on a virtual scratch pad. The program uses new digital ink technology, which provides a very smooth ink flow, so it feels like writing on an actual piece of paper. While working with the note editor, PhatPad offers standard editing commands in addition to a customizable pen palette and variable pen width.

"We're excited to see PhatWare continue to develop and enhance the PhatPad application across Microsoft platforms while adding to their line of great productivity tools for Windows Mobile users." said John Dietz, group product manager, Microsoft Corp. "PhatPad is yet another tool that can help people increase their personal and professional productivity and communications while on the go."

One of the most notable new features in PhatPad 4.0 is support for typed text in addition to digital ink. Typed text can be inserted into the new or existing PhatPad documents in the form of text objects or labels. PhatPad allows up to 1,000 text objects per page with each text object containing up to 16KB of text and attributes such as background, border, and text color and text font. Users can then edit, move or delete existing text objects. All text is stored in Unicode and is supported on both desktop and Pocket PCs.

The upgraded software also includes a number of other new features, including improved inking and integration with handwriting recognition software on Tablet PCs and UMPCs, sinkable user interface with 9 pre-defined skins (including four skins similar to Microsoft Office 2007’s interface), document templates, password-protection with 256-bit long security key and new proprietary encryption algorithms, as well as support for Microsoft Windows Vista.

"PhatWare is thrilled about the recent improvements made to PhatPad based on the professional and consumer feedback we received after the release of PhatPad version 3" said PhatWare president Stan Miasnikov. "PhatWare appreciates all of the input received by industry professionals and consumers to make PhatPad among the best in its class."

The application works on Pocket PCs running Windows Mobile 2003 or later and Tablet, Desktop and UMPCs with Windows 2000 SP3 or later (including Windows Vista with Windows Mobile Device Center component).

    PhatPad Pricing and Availability

PhatPad 4.0 is available now at the list price of $39.95. For a limited time only, PhatPad 4.0 will be sold for a special introductory price of $29.95. A free 30-day trial version of PhatPad 4.0 can be downloaded from the PhatWare web site at http://www.phatware.com/phatpad. All registered customers of PhatPad 3.0 who purchased the product on or after September 1, 2006 will receive a free upgrade. All other registered users of any previous versions of PhatPad can purchase the latest version for a special upgrade price of $19.95.  (Source: Press Release)

New software lets you watch TV on more than 500 mobile devices - Makayama introduces Mobile TV Center 1.0

Software company Makayama announces the availability of ‘Mobile TV Center’. This innovative software lets you watch TV shows on 550 mobile devices, such as Pocket PC, iPod, Palm,  Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Motorola and other major brand cellphones, PSP, portable media players and even on TomTom. The software works with Windows Media Center and provides automatic conversion and transfer of home TV recordings to mobile devices.

The software installs on any Windows Media Center PC, users pick their device and then it’s all automatic. Every new TV-recording will be converted in the background to a mobile video format, which will play on the portable device. TV-shows are transferred to the device, every time the memorycard is inserted, or when the device is connected via USB. New recordings can be scheduled using the built-in Electronic Program Guide of the Media Center. The software can be operated with a TV remote control and has the Windows Media Center look and feel, because it has the same intuitive, user-interface as the Media Center. Windows Media center will be part of Windows Vista Premium Edition, which will be pre-installed on the majority of new home PC’s sold next year.

Makayama CEO Vincent Verweij says: “No other software supports this many mobile devices in one package. With other solutions, such as Slingbox you need to buy special hardware, your mobile device needs a wideband wireless connection and then you’re still restricted to watching only live TV. Our software lets you take your personal TV-favourites on the go without having to worry about getting connections or paying for the data or the content. It’s just a one-time purchase of software and you have an unlimited number of tv-hours in your pocket. And the quality is better than streaming video because no wireless connection is needed to view the video.”

The software runs on Windows Media Center Edition (XP or Vista). A memorycard reader is required, or a USB cable for transfer of content.

The online download price is USD 34.95 (EUR 29.95) ex. local tax.
The free tryout version allows users to convert 10 minutes of all TV-shows and doesn’t expire.   (Source: Press Release)
