SYWARE®, Inc. Announces Mobile Development Tools Support for Windows Vista

New releases of Visual CE®, Report CE®, mEnable®, and all other Mobile Software development tools from SYWARE now support Windows Vista.

CAMBRIDGE, MA, USA - March, 15th 2007- SYWARE, Inc., a leading developer of mobile database development tools for business and personal productivity, today announced that their mobile development tools are now fully compatible with the Microsoft Windows Vista operating system. These powerful, inexpensive, award winning, mobility development tools make it easy to build applications for all types of Windows Mobile devices: Pocket PC, Pocket PC Phone Edition and Smartphone. SYWARE, Inc.'s products continue to support all previous 32-bit Windows operating systems and are fully backward compatible.

With the release of Windows Vista Microsoft has made significant changes to the way the desktop connects and synchronizes to Windows Mobile devices. SYWARE's current releases accommodate and take advantage of these changes. The desktop development environment installs and runs on Vista and the mobile applications built with SYWARE's products install and synchronize with Windows Vista desktops. Support for Windows Vista extends to all versions: corporate (Vista Business and Vista Enterprise) as well as consumer (Vista Home Basic, Home Premium, and Ultimate).

This news follows the recent announcement that SYWARE, Inc's tools can now be used to create applications for Windows Mobile based Smartphones without touchscreens (Windows Mobile 6 "Standard" devices), as well as Pocket PCs and Pocket PC phone Edition devices (Windows Mobile 6 "Classic" and "Professional" devices). Developers can create a single application that runs on all Windows Mobile devices, including the Motorola Q, the Samsung Blackjack, the HP I-Mate, the Dopod StrTrk S300, and the HTC MteoR.  (Source: Press Release)

Lotus Notes Support for Windows Mobile 6 Announcement

CommonTime, (USA/Europe, March 15, 2007), a leading provider of secure wireless email exclusively for enterprises running Lotus Notes®, announces that it's mSuite software, will be compatible with the latest Microsoft PDA and Smartphone operating system

mSuite was featured in the 4Q06 Gartner Magic Quadrant, and has developed a business around bringing two opposing software giants together; by bringing together the IBM Lotus messaging product onto the Microsoft signature mobile platform Windows Mobile. At 3GSM earlier this year Steve Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft revealed Windows Mobile 6 with full fanfare and stated "A work force that is both mobile and connected is becoming essential for business success. That's why we're integrating innovative mobile technologies into all our key products, with Windows Mobile as the centrepiece". Windows Mobile 6 features enhancements to email, calendaring and improved versions of mobile versions of Office Outlook®, Office Word, Office Excel® and Office PowerPoint®

mSuite brings advanced Lotus Notes® messaging with strongly Lotus-centric functions and operations to the Windows-focused devices. This means that features such as SameTime instant messaging and 'free time search' which are normally confined to the world of Lotus Notes® will be available in the Windows environment of a phone or PDA. The value here for CommonTime Enterprise customers, such as Rolex, Coca Cola Bottling, Salvation Army, Philips, Oxfam, and other potential customers is that they can reduce the end-user learning curve, leverage existing Lotus skills and increase the speed of deployment. Largely due to familiarity with the look, feel, and functionality of the technology which is strongly comparable with the Lotus Notes® desktop experience

"Wireless mail takes businesses onto the first step of mobility. To reap real productivity benefits, and to mitigate risks, enterprises need to efficiently deploy, secure, and manage both mail and applications for remote workers anytime, anyplace. The combination of Palm devices, Windows Mobile 6 and mSuite, from CommonTime, provides the perfect mobility solution, and is critical to ensuring wireless project success now, and in the future" says Martin Day, Head of Enterprise Sales EMEA for Palm Europe  (Source: Press Release)
